Genetic Praise for Habib Koité Matched by Chris May

While it is true that UK critic, author biographer and dance company director, Chris May is unable to father (mother?) Habib's children he is giving his newest CD deep praise. He names Afriki,

"the prettiest, most beguiling acoustic album to have come out of
Africa this year, and an unusually successful marriage of traditional
Malian and Western rock and folk musics."
In his glowing review May goes on to highlight the final track "Titari".

"It's a microslice of the quietly ambitious cross-cultural sweep of Afriki, and there's only one thing to do when it finishes. Hit replay. I've been doing that all morning."
