Discover Modern India's Greatest Singer – Kailash Kher & Kailasa Release First International Album Today. Tour Starts Sep. 20th

"Kailash Kher moves among styles without hesitation, adding elements of folk, reggae and rock to Indian pop. A voice as appealing as it is thrilling." - The Wall Street Journal

You wouldn't know it by looking at him, as he is just over five feet tall, but Indian singer Kailash Kher is big - in fact, he's huge. In a country with nearly a billion people, Kher's enormous voice and supersized personality have helped him to rise above the crowd and reach stratospheric heights of fame. Not only is Kher is one of Bollywood's most recognizable playback singers and a judge on the immensely popular Indian Idol TV show but rather than being content with this career, Kailash Kher broke the mold and with his band Kailasa he has risen far beyond the media dominance of the Indian film industry to become one of the subcontinent's most successful musical groups. Along the way Kher has been praised by none other than Grammy winner and Slumdog Millionaire composer AR Rahman. "I want to say that Kailash Kher's voice has something that had been lacking a lot [in Bollywood] - it had pure soul!" - AR Rahman.

"Yatra (Nomadic Souls)", is the Indian supergroup's first international release and features Kailash Kher & Kailasa's trademark blend of mystical Sufi soul and Indian folk roots blended with contemporary pop, rock, reggae and funk grooves. The breathtaking album features new songs along with new studio and unplugged recordings of the some of their most appealing hits.
